As I was beginning to write, I saw a red glimmer on the windows of the Jesuit Fathers’ chapel, but thinking it was the reflection of the sun, I continued to write… But, suddenly, I heard shouts from people on the street. I looked through the window and saw flames coming from the house near us. Being alone, unable to escape by myself, all I could do was to ask my Beloved for help and the protection of my Gentle Mother of heaven. All I did was pray, bless the house by spraying it with holy water for protection. I was holding Our little crucifix in my hand and the statue of my Gentle Mother of heaven. I was sure that I was safe.
This fire lasted several hours. Twenty firemen were wounded. After an hour, I was told to be ready to leave on a stretcher for the hospital. Being unable to move around without danger, I had no other choice, for there was fear of further explosions. I continued praying alone, not being able to phone my director for no lines were working.
At the precise moment when the fire began, a religious sister, my little soul sister, E… was accompanying the statue of Mary Queen of Hearts that was spending three days in Beauharnois.
So, returning with this precious statue and being a few streets from my home, she begged Mary Queen of Hearts to protect me, to watch over me. She was praying for me without knowing about the fire, that I was in danger for the neighboring house was beginning to burn.
